Cedars can be an asset, especially when planning privacy. Also, they draw many types of wildlife. Cedars are very hearty and often immune to diseases that can affect oaks.
Oak Wilt is prevalent in parts of the Hill Country and oaks are vulnerable to untimely pruning. There are many resources to guide you when planning this project.
Leave edges around property as much as possible for privacy.
Remember utility easements when planting.
